Great British Television.
Just wanted to say, that i just runned in to Brookside/even though this an old soap, i strated looking at it /is not bad.i like reading the comments people write about it.i notice that alot of people don't like Chris for Beth.but i think she wasn't that bad.even though she was older.she helped Beth mature a little more/dress better(LoL!).i think if it wasn't for Chris,Beth would still be in the clothier, that's something Beth ex's didn' do.but that my opinion,A new fan(-:
I am really glad you have discovered Beth's story, and that you like it. Please feel free to post any comments you wish. Thanks for viewing, and posting.
What type work is she doing now in US? I am just curious. Thanks for the videos.
Yeah true - I just always see the Beth Jordache thing as a major TV storyline because she was a very young character and it was so 'unstereotypical'. I was very young when this, Emmerdale and Eastenders were showing gay storylines and Brookie is always the one that gets talked about the most lol.
Anna Friel can be seen on US TV at the mo on a show called Pushing Daisies.
I remember '94, it was like waiting for a bus, then 3 of them come along at once! 3 good lesbian story-lines all on at once, and this was 13 years ago! Sadly now, lesbian story-lines are often done, but incredibly badly, typically a female character will "turn gay" for a month or two, then revert back again.
Yeah they did that with Jasmine and Debbie in Emmerdale, then Jasmine decided she fancied Debbie's dad. And with Sonia in Eastenders. Either they decide they're straight, or one of them leaves or dies. Lol.
that is funny...lol
Lol hopefully she'll think it's a good thing. I think she got a bit annoyed at being remembered as 'that girl eho kissed another girl on Brookside' at one point, but it was a groundbreaking storyline and an important one. I think it's good that these clips are being posted now, when it's Channel 4's 25 birthday - people who have watched a few Brookie episodes on more4 might pay a visit to these pages lol.
I think we should mention Leah Bracknell, who to be fair, played the first out lesbian on British soap Zoe Tate on "Emmerdale" some time before, and whose character lasted even longer, about 11 years. "Brookside", "Emmerdale" and "Eastenders" were all doing good lesbian storylines back in 1994.
