Watchmen Comic-Con Panel: PART ONE

Like I have been saying leave zack alone! Yes his films (so far) have been visual but that doesn't mean that he can only do visual! He just has not really got the chance to make a drama! Don't a filmmaker on just 2 movies! Wait till he has made at least 5! I think he will do a great job and it will help his career! Also everyone whos has seen the exclusive 25 minutes or the entire movie has been really happy with it. This group includes Kevin Smith who everyone knows is a huge comic fan!

You know your argument would've made sense but he has the chance now to make a good drama film. And he is NOT DOING IT! Zack Snyder has ability no one is arguing that. But he is not suited to make quality films. Its just a fact. All of this action stuff was 5% of the comic of Watchmen and he's turned it into 90%. He needs to stick to Visual films like spawn or Video game films. He is not suited for Watchmen guys open your eyes. Look at the Scream Awards trailer really look at it and be honest..

Your judging a film by the trailer? Both trailers are made up of scenes exactly from the graphic novel and yes I am currently reading it. Go read Watchmen and look at the screen shots in the trailer. You will see that they are the same. Also the trailer does make it look like an action film but that is only to draw audiences in. Don't blame the director for how the trailer is edited. As I stated before everyone who has seen the 25 minute clip and a rough cut of the film has loved it!

I was there, and I have a very good feeling about this project. It should be better than V was. what a joke! that movie sucked.

Umm V for Vendetta was good for what it was. But not the actual Story. And just so you know Watchmen will not be anywhere near the quality of V for vendetta. If your expecting it to do so I suggest suicide now. V for vendetta had Hugo Weaving and a decent Script. Watchmen has solid snake writing the script and Malin Akerman as the female lead. That tells u the whole story. Sorry man.

Fair enough. I would even say this. Snyder has ability visualy. The problem is that he is making the wrong kinds of movies. He is more suited for a gears of war, mortal kombat, spawn type movies. Visual fiesta type movies. Watchmen is about the story. Beggining middle and end. It makes no sense for him to do this movie. He is bringing the exact same principles he used to make 300 to Watchmen and that is a BIG mistake.

altough it is true that snyder seems far under experienced to throw him this important of project, he did not write the screen play. the screen play is written by the guy who did x-men 1 and 2, which im not saying is a good thing or a bad thing, but at least prior knowledge to what works and what doesnt when converting the comic into live motion. Personally, I just dont see how a movie could possibly do justice to graphic novel, its so unlike anything Ive ever read. Fantastic

Umm the guy who wrote X-men 1 and 2 is SOLID SNAKE! he also wrote scorpion king. That tells u the whole story. YOu know how bad that movie was? And now he is Writing the script for alan Moores Watchmen. So any hope you have of a proper dialouge in depth story that is intelligent is pretty much out of the window.

I agree with you. Zack Snyder and solid snake are just awful choices. In the end, they dont have enough experience. I mean, there are a million and one people who wouldve been better choices to make the movie, and im not so sure about the cast eiter, the guy who is playing rorshach, hes talented, but seems entirely wrong for the role. But im still hoping its good, i mean why not? Maybe itll just be an ok-good movie that is way different than the book. whatever we will see soon enough.

Look at the comic-con trailer you can see where this guy's brain is. The way that roarschach took that grappling hook and jumped up on the balcony is absolutely RIDICULOUS! He doesnt understand. All of these guys are just as normal as u and me w/ the exception of Dr Manhattan. So Watchmen should be even more real than the dark knight. Zack Snyder just doesnt understand. He is making the wrong kinds of movies. This film WILL thats right WILL be a disaster. I'm not putting any money into it.
