Jean Reno might have done the voiceover for this commercial in four languages for 450,000 euros (allegedly) but Renault couldn't use it for the Scandinavian market as I guess the usage deal didn't cover this territory, and I also guess that Renault didn't fancy paying an extra 150,000 euros or whatever.
So who did they call? Yes, me. And I did it for a bit less than 450,000 euros.
Now the more astute among you will notice that I voiced the commercial in French, which mean that most Scandis will understand ziltch. But it doesn't matter because it being in French gives this commercial the French flair highlighting the roots of this car. At least it's how I understand it.
There are two foolproof ways to sell products: sex, and French accent/language.
So often the advertisers call me.
And sometimes, they ask me to speak.

If you did the voice over for the Scandinavian market, how come the commercial is in Swedish in Sweden? I have a hard time believing you, because there's no commercial in Sweden with French voice overs because we wouldn't understand one word (except for those who studied French).
I only know what I'm told. What I was told was that they wanted it in French to give the commercial a 'French flair'. I was paid for usage so I assume that they used it. I don't need anyone to believe me or not - that's simply my job to do voiceovers.
the song is: Otis Reddding - (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay ;P great song<3
