if i was on on that carrier i would try to start up the plane on board and get the hell out of there!
one time in SH 4 i was chasing a convoy with 4 merchants escorted by 1 destroyer well he detected me and did his little circle to try and kill me but i was already behind the merchants and about 50 km downward i surfaced the boat and took out 3/4 merchant ships before i was in range of the destroyer.
his superstructure, thats how high the waves are and how much weather can affect the battle, in calm weather you will come under fire from any BB at about 24 or so miles, and in hevey seas when i encountered the Tirpitz, he never fired and i still lost 4 DDs, from roling over in the storm or running into german ships, which i just remembered was the Tirpitz, Admiral Hipper, and the Admiral Scheer, at least one of my DDs rammed each of those ships
in DE, bad weather is a bitch, i took a force of 8 or so destroyers, with a support fleet of 4 cruiser 2 light and 2 heavy i think, and went up against 1 or 2 battleships, and a cruiser or 2, i ran into a german battleship, the tirpitz, cause i was going 23 knots and didnt detect him till i was 100 yards away, ran into him amidships, another time i was in the pacific against a jap force of BBs, CAs, and DDs, i litterly went right over a jap DD on a wave, the bottom of my hull hit
i mean what ship, i know it is a escort carrier i mean like the uss bogue or somthing
You never find out ship names in the game, but I'd say it's most likely the USS Casablanca or the unnamed Bogue-class carrier in the "XXI" single-game.
ok thx, i never played this game and the closest was destroyer escort, where in good weather you ID ships at about 5 miles and in bad weather when they cominto viual range at about 500 or so yards, and that game is fun when you pull up alongside a battleship and they dont fire at you for 10 minutes
Ah, yeah, I completely agree. The next best thing is to play as the Type XXI from 1945 in the single missions. They can't to crap against you! xD
