String never died in the crash and plus the footage of the Hughes 500 crashing into the cliff is taken from the 1978 movie Capricorn One that footage also used in the A-Team episode battle of bel-air and on top of that Capricorn One's footage was also used in other episodes of Airwolf as well too.

i love this video ...i first saw this movie when i was 7 or 8. now i'm 24, i still love it. maybe as a child i was efected by this movie romanticly that i've become such a romantic person.
