Awesome sound and playing. What do you mainly attribute this great sound to-the amp, the effects, or the guitar?
|
Probably the amp mostly. Two 6973 power tubes, but I also love the Zoom 505 processor. It's the original 505, you can get them on Ebay for like 40 bucks or something. I just posted another little jam on Youtube today with the same guitar and processor but with a Harmony amp instead of the Supro......You can hear the difference

what's the wattage on this thing?
|
I'm not sure, but it's probably about 18 watts RMS output or something like that. Basically studio only, or a small room live. It's the 6973 power tubes that give it a good sound.....and also a wide cabinet a lot of people say that a wide cabinet lets the speaker breathe more. If I ever actually saw a speaker breathe, it would really freak me out!!

Hey Curtis sounds great. It's Jimmy Rowbottom, got your email. I'm building a tele with 150+ yr old mahogany. I'll try to post something when it's done.

awsome tone dude! when you say this is a model 24 your playing through,is that the supro with the 6973 tubes.man you gotta put up more videos with that supro sound. great playing. frank

Hey, Thanks. Yes it is the 6973 tubes. Also they made the model 1624 which was the exact same amp, then they dropped the "16" in I think 1964. They also made the same circuit in an Airline (Montgomery Wards) and a Gretch. But yeah, it's a Zoom 505 processor, and that's it. That thing sounds so good. Thanks for the kind words...have a great day!!!
