Disagreeing with what someone says is not attacking their right to have the opinion, it is attacking the opinion itself. Unfortunately, the Media PR in support of the Dixie Chicks have tossed this difference aside. The Media, for the sake of profit, has spun the american dissent against the opinion expressed by Natalie Maines into an attack on her freedom of speech. As a result, public opinion has been squashed by media hype, which is a greater travesty than somebody tossing their cds.

At a performance in front of a foreign audience, while thousands were emoting to their music, Natalie decides she will fuel the "hate america" fire there by iterating her personal views. I respect anyone's right to speak their mind, but to use their popular status and a public venue to reinforce anti-American feelings is abuse of power as much as Bush's profiteering agenda. Exactly right. Is the USA the land of the free, or what? I admire the girls for speaking out for what they thought was right.

I burn them, but in the "CD to play" sense. I give them away to any of my friends so they dont have to buy them. Anyone who likes their music should get on limewire or equivalent and download their songs instead of buying them, even to burn them. Not a matter of truth or not with what Natalie said (bush is a profiteer in my view). People RELATE to popular people, especially those that are in entertainment. We like them because we relate to their role in a movie, or the songs they sing.

how many people want to worship these women for speaking the truth...these dumb so called patriots who support a flag that dosent represent any any decent human on the face of the planet.... hats off to the chicks for sayin what too many cowards wont say ... a country that has been built off the backs and blood of everyone other than those who should've sufferd.
