Bombardier Q400 and CRJ900

the Q400 goes really fast for a turbo prop, 414 mph cruise

I had about 50 hr on the crj-900, it performs really well, I realy liked that plane. Too bad, I don't fly crj-900 no more, that plane was really fun to fly.

I fly the Q400, and these figures are off the mark. The plane might land in 1,800 ft if it is empty. Yes, its predecessors were STOL aircraft, but that was not so much the focus for the Q400. Any plane can land on dirt or gravel, most don't because it hurts them and the same goes for the Q400. The plane is not so good for poor countries. The list price is in excess of $18M. It will have a little over 5,000 shp with an engine failure, but it is actually a little over 4,000 for normal takeoffs.

these planes have been out for along time already- the q400 is older than the rj900 i think though. but ya these are old news. lol.

ever try replacing a battry in that fukin plane nd u ill know how grate og a plane it is, lets put it this way it takes less time to takeout a battry in a b777 then in a q400

What? Are you thinking about the DHC-7? Q400 needs something like 1100m for TO/landing.

As an FYI. The European Air Ministries have proven that maintenance was the issue with the landing gear. Odd that it was always the gear on the one side of the plane.
