MAME Machine in Operation

Video Title : MAME Machine in Operation
Description : What you're looking at is my my MAME Arcade machine at start up from it's PC and launch directly into MameWah, the software I'm using for it's front end. (Need to hide that taskbar!) It launches a cool intro video from Cinemarcade.com The layout I did not make, but when everything is completely working, I will be making my own though similar to what's seen here. I will drop in an image of my machine when it's complete with the changing marquees and title screens. I am also currently updating the preview title screens to actually show gameplay footage of the selected game. I don't have the control panel currently hooked up as it's being worked on, so sorry I couldn't move Mikey around in TMNT, but you get the idea of how it works. (You can pause gameplay, fantastic feature!) At exit of MameWah, the outro video (also from cinemarcade) plays and goes back to windows desktop. Check out the updates: http://danomitek.wordpress.com/

Great video! I got mamewah downloaded as said on the site, have done everything as i should but when i open mamewah, how do i get the games listed? it says i have no games!.I have over 200 in my roms folder.

vsync is off.

Hi i like your setup but i have one problem to do with mamewah, 1st i cant get an intro movie to play before it starts mamewah and 2nd could you send me your mame.ini and mamewah.cfg file because i cant use a joypad in mame command line version. thanks for your help

It depends on what kind of joypad. My setup is through a JPac and Ipac, which translate inputs to keyboard presses. There should be a line in the ini that you must fill in the file path to the intro video. I'm not around at the moment to get my ini file, but when I do, I will send them your way.

im using a ps2 joypad with an adaptor, i can use the joypad in emulators like nebula and mame32 but i cant use it in mame 124b. I insert some info into my mame.ini file but when i start mame i still cant use my joypad and when i look back in my mame.ini file the info i inserted has been deleted. This is what i inserted into the ini file.

### Input device options ### mouse 0 joystick 1 lightgun 0

Yeah, I'm not sure how that joypad is mapped. If it maps it to keyboard presses it should be fine.

thats cool, if you could send me your mame.ini and your mamewah.cfg file so i could have a look at it i might work it out.

Anyone know where I can get video tutorial on setting up MAMEWAH? I read the Wiki and it made sense but the changes I make have limited effects and I can't config the roms path.

No, it's not very High-res. I dont really see a need for it since it's running on an arcade monitor which isnt high-res at all. I think the monitor is at 640x480 and it's a 20" screen. Keep in mind, it's essentially a tweaked TV screen from nearly 20 years ago.
