Everything she says is a poem to me.

Is there a complete video of Toni's lecture?

I lost some of my love for Toni Morrison, after the reckless comment she made about Bill Clinton being "the first black president", by equating him to negative sterotypical traits associated to black people. I only hope that she learnt from that ! Someone of her influence, should know better than to make a comment like that!

I feel like someone from the moon. I just found out that I could see and listen to her on this marvelous medium. As though reading her wasn't enough. I am happily and utterly again amazed.

I feel you.

The Bluest Eye and Beloved were the most cryptic for me: I had to read each atleast three times to understand and I still feel like there's more I didn't see. My favorite book of hers would also be Tar Baby

Prof. Morrison is the epitome of grace, brilliance and genius. Although her latest books, Paradise and Love are really cryptic and difficult. It's like when Prince when from the easy groove of Purple Rain to the strangeness of the Rainbow Children.

I agree about her genius. But Paradise was one of my favorites. Some of those images were riveting. And the story of those women attacked by men from a town of utopian blackness... was a devasting commentary about what perfection breeds, and how it targets those who it deems imperfect. I think I just went on a rant there. LOL. But I've been a Morrison fan since I started fiction.
