Convair B-36 "Peacemaker"

Met an ex B36 pilot at an airshow he said it was the biggest pile of shit he ever flew his had 90 + engine changes I opened with what was the B36 like then? He replied "Thank God for the B47 or else I doubt we'd be having this conversation boy"

We have one on loan from Wright Patterson Museum. It's on display at Castle Air force Museum here at Atwater, Ca. It's huge!

The B-36 was impressive, all right. I'm pretty certain, however, that the name Peacemaker didn't exist during the years it was in service. I never heard the term. I believe the name for the aircraft was applied long after its last flight had been completed.
