The A350 XWB Family represents a 21st Century solution for an aircraft in this size category.
The A350 XWB brings together the very latest in aerodynamics, design and advanced technologies.
With an airframe made of more than 60 per cent new materials, chosen for their superior weight and strength properties, the A350 XWB has the most efficient structure in terms of design concept. In particular, its innovative use of all-new Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) panelled fuselage skins cater for much easier maintenance and reparability. This design also allows weight savings via optimum fibre lay-up and skin thickness tailored to the requirements of the location.
The all-new composite wing design lifts the A350 XWB cruise speed to Mach 0.85 (the cruise speed of the A380). Excellent aerodynamics, together with advanced high lift devices and advanced systems contribute to greater fuel economy in all flight regimes and on the ground. Moreover, the new Rolls Royce Trent XWB engine, producing up to 92,000lb of thrust, will draw on the latest manufacturing, materials and thermodynamic expertise to deliver lower fuel burn and lower maintenance costs while minimising the noise 'footprint' around airports and reducing environmental impact.
Building on the A380 interactive cockpit and systems, the XWB Family will feature- modern functions such as an airport navigation system and the brake to vacate, a system designed to optimize braking for passenger comfort and better runway usage.
The A350 XWB is designed to give exemplary reliability in service with longer maintenance intervals and customised maintenance schedules to help provide airlines with higher operating productivity.

i don't get it tiger airways has many a320 and wants to get the a319 like silkair why not the a330 like jetstar
we can't blame airbus for the two year delay of the a380 its the biggest passenger aircraft and it takes a long time to build
the knock off brand (generic) of the Boeing 787.
A very handsome aircraft indeed! Would Airbus be so kind as to create versions to suit certain customers?
cool what the name of the song pls?
I just watched th video that this was a response to ("Delay Liner") and now i am thinking, "How can these Airbus fans put down Boeing for delays in its aircraft when its own A380 has been delayed for about 2 years AND its own A350 isn't even due to start deliveries until 2012?!"
The difference is that Airbus delayed the 1st DELIVERY of the A380, and Boeing is delaying the 1st FLIGHT. Delays in A380 came after first flight, which was made in 2005. So, if Boeing is delaying the first flight, how much delayed are going to be the deliveries?. That's what is worrisome. Think about it.
And talking about the A350, I refresh your memory: remember that A350 concept came 3 years after 787 concept. So, the A350 has been on the market for only 3 years when the 787 has been for 6 (that explain why the A350 has more orders PER YEAR than the 787). So "we can say" that the A350 CONCEPT is who arrived late....not the plane itself. See what I mean?
the a350 xub is just like the new boeing and plus why would you unveil another plane when one is not even in full production
787 all the way
It has! but only a voice..like the dubbing"Bigger is better, over 19 inches tall, the 787 windows are the biggest in the industry, which means more sun, more sky, and more to see on those beautiful vistas, if not just press the button and watch it dim, on the 787 dreamliner, the world never looked so good" anyways the A350, 787, 747-8 uses the same windows(there are no window shades, they are just like televisions that turns on and off)
