There was a lot of diversity in "grunge" anyway. I think that Soul Asylum and Nirvana actually had very little in common. Also, I think that all those "grunge" bands never thought of themselves as "grunge" before that marketing term was thought up by the press. But yeah, Soul Asylum's first album was made a whole 10 years before Nirvana's "Bleach".

I agree totally with ya'll....wasn't "loud fast rules" thier first album?...either way- what a great time. Every band back then held hands back down to what being American punk actually meant- doing your own thing.
