"Huapango" by Jose Pablo Moncayo (1912-1958) is inspired in Mexican folk songs and rhythms. It is Mexico's quintessential symphonic work, and it is widely performed. This reduction arranged by Victor Pichardo, is performed by a combined folk and classical ensemble of eleven players

The Huapango always gives me goosebumps and this version rocks my world.
I really liked the very original parts like the zapateo and the fact that the ensemble sounds like a much larger orchestra.
I think the interlude probably needs to be softer, more harp and less guitars, it sounds too mariachi like. The flute also makes it sound too pre-hispanic, nothing to do with a huapango.
All in all it's a really great version. Should get a lot more views and comments. Felicidades.
