What right do you have to determine what someone else does with their own body to which the potential life at that stage, is effectively, another part. Perhaps you should re-evaluate or back up your response with some scientific conclusions on the subject, not your moralistic and scientifically ignorant opinions which are construed by you as equally valid in an argument which requires scientifically valid conclusions.

God help us. There are people around that need a scientist to help them recognize a baby.

A scientist uses a rational criteria based on observation and fact- you demand the use of morals- which you feel you can impose on others- in situations which require an educated, rational approach, not scientifically unfounded morals which are entirely subjective.

If you have lost a child through abortion, I am sorry for your pain and don't judge you.

I am glad to hear it. If you had, you will have had the message that your sense of grief is foolish and your emotional suffering ignored. The truth is your loss is just as real as that of a parent who has held the child in their arms.

Abortion only removes an undeveloped potential life that has not developed into what can scientifically be defined as a baby. You choose to term potential life as 'unborn babies' when they are not yet actual independent babies, 'slaughtered' when they cannot survive without their mothers sustenance, and hence, aren't actually independent living beings, and the idea that it would be 'sicking'- there are reasons why women have abortions... do you think they do it because they are selfish?

"there are reasons why women have abortions" - yes, apparently 18,000 reasons a year. Can you name anything other than an unborn child that has a beating heart and is considered dead? Are you suggesting that Human beings who aren't "independent" and need a Mothers sustenance should be left to die?

You could also say that if YOU are going to talk about politics and society then YOU shouldn't generalize. I could spend my time researching the extensive critiques of "fundemental christians" and their misinterpretation of the bible and then quote all the bits and pieces for you but the fact is its been said many times and it would be a waste of my time. Just like this is wasting both of our time, so goodnight and know that your vote will be immediatedly neutralized by mine! :)

Amanda, do you think this is about whether there is a right or wrong way to vote? we're screwed either way. We have events in our not to distant future that will make you damn glad you don't have kids. As enlightened as you are, you seem blissfully unaware that concerning yourself with the matrimonial property rights of gays and such, is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The future of our Nation has nothing whatever to do with installing the right government.
