Me gusta el canto de tres grandes: Mario Lanza, Pavaroti, Juan Diego Florez. Increible voz! Creo que Florez esta muy bien, pero estarà mucho mejor en unos pocos años.

Florez is a wonderful singer. He is simply amazing. But to say that he is the best tenor in the world is an exageration. He may be the best ROSSINIAN tenor in the world but his voice is too small to sing the BIG tenor roles and that would hinder the possibity to be considered the best tenor in the world. My opinion.

You're right. Aleph. I just haven't been marvelled by singer with such crystalline talent for many years. I heard him live last year. And that concert was certainly replete with Rossini and Bel Canto. So go on...and say that his prodigious is not big enough. But for me, it is good enough. The thrills I received from his performance were unmatched since I heard Pavarotti in 1975. Albeit different, but they were thrills. I guess that's what it's all about. Thank you for commenting.

Fair enough. You are right, what makes a singer great is not the size of her/his voice but those "thills", that sense of awe that we get when that person opens his/her mouth. And Florez definitely has that quality.
