screw it its funny

Oh yeah, does anyone remember that movie "Little Monsters" from the 80s? They had a similar idea where the monster came from under the bed, which led to another world. They could also access other kids' beds from there.

I don't know if I'd consider it a stolen idea since the idea that monsters hid in closets or under beds has been around for a while. Where are they when kids check those areas during the day? It kinda makes sense that they're "portals" to another world. I get what you mean, but it doesn't REALLY seem stolen to me.

It was common for people to name dogs like Bulldogs, Mastiffs, etc. names from ancient Rome that sounded regal and majestic, i.e., Nero, Caesar, Brutus, and yes, Marc Anthony...

Actually Chuck Jones said it himself that this was the most subversive cartoon ever put to celluloid. Imagine dogs and cats living together in love and harmony. MASS HYSTERIA!!! ( Pete Venkman ) ROFL & LMAO!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Chuck Jones is my hero by the way.

I think it's on the commentary track on the Monsters Inc. DVD where Ithey mention that Sully's facial expressions when Boo appears to be getting mangled by the machine were lifted directly from Marc Anthony in this short as an homage to Chuck and co. Pixar's new short "Presto" (before Wall-E) is a wonderful attempt at doing a real Looney Tunes style toon.

I forgot how hilarious Monsters Inc was

Nothing's original anymore. I've learned to just accept that. The old Chuck Jones cartoon is wonderful and the Pixar movie is too, so I don't care if the idea has been stolen or not.

Sorry folks, but the scenes are supposed to be homages to their influences...they even named the restaurant in the movie after Harry Hausen.
