i've fallen victim to a bait switch on my first digital camera purchase a few years ago.

MDG Computers Canada is a good example of this. I've read countless complaints about how they swap new computer parts with ones that are of less quality and at least 2 years outdated. Upselling is also one of their strengths. I have never bought or even considered buying from MDG and never will.

No, We Don't Have Any Grey Poupon......
Boy, look at you. You think you're really something, don't you, fancy-pants? You think you're up there on some cloud looking down on the rest of us, sitting on a throne of cashmere and caviar, cutting farts that smell like fresh-baked cookies. Oh, you're too good for any old digital camera. No, you'd never sully your pristine hands with some run-of-the-mill pixel-pusher. Your camera has to be special. Just like you, specialkins.

you're a wise person, chris.

bottom line: You can get taken if you are an idiot. If you are not you can get good deals even if you have to call. I got a refurbished Macbook pro core duo for $1000 just months after it was released for half price and I had to call, but no bait and switch and i'm still using the laptop today without a problem.

This guy is a loser

fotoconnection did that exact thing to me. I should have known the price was "too good to be true" I told them to forget it
