Great Vid! Sure, the B-24 wasn't as glamorous as the B-17, but she was every bit as capable and rugged as the '17. Google B-24 Lady Be Good. Now there's a story!!!

Right! I think so!

Check out Jay Leno's garage website, he's featured a unique P-51. This (I believe) B-24 will be shown starting on 6-23-08. Beautiful plane, keep 'em flying! More allied bombs dropped by B-24 than any other type aircraft during WWII! BTW, the highest scoring candidates in training were made navigators, not pilots!

i know a Vet who was the bombader in one of those
|
just kidding it was this plane. haha
|
or maybe it was the b-24 bomber. hmmm
|
my grandpa was the navigator on that plane =]

I remember seeing the b-24 once in long beach, when it was called Spirit of America, but it was at a distance in a car :/
I've never seen or heard this airplane up close, but from this vid, it sounds awesome.

Great plane. Large payload and speed. Notice the wing shape -- suited for heavy lift and high altitude. Crews had to wear fur lined suits on bombing missions in addition to onboard oxygen.

Up until a few years ago I thought there was a B-24 still flying in the UK. But, now this is the last one in the world still flying. Remarkable when you think of how many more of these were built compared to the B-17.
I was up in Nine-0-Nine last year and I hope to go in Witchcraft this summer.
