The old niva cossack was brilliant, 1 of the best off road vehicles i ever drove, very reliable too. very hard to get a decent 1 now tho.

I love Land Rovers. It would be my first choice out in the plains of Africa. I love Discovery models, but hats off to the Defender...
i commend land rover for keeping a utilitarian model in the defender rather than giving it ifs and 20" alloys. that ones a bit smarter than my 1990 110, but long live the REAL defender!!
i love this 4x4 like the H1 this 4x4 really kick ass of a Jeep like Hummer
My bad.Not an expert. Was the body of a Defender but a 30-year old Land Rover engine built in...
WAs it a series 3 chassis with a defender body conversion? Im thinking of doing the opposite and converting my defender to look like a series, i prefer the look of the series land rovers but wanna keep my 200 tdi and am not a fan of leaf springs.
a 30 year old defender????? only been making defenders for 18 years. 1978 more likely to be a series 3.
indeed, i drive a ninety built in 1985.
looks like a defender but stil isn't a defender.
it's called a defender when they've started to put in the 200tdi engine.
Shame they can't get their facts right. Series 1 Defender - No such thing!!
Series vehicles were 'Land Rovers' - there was nothing else. Defenders didn't come out till 1990, until then there had only been 'Series' Land Rovers, 'nineties' and 'one tens'.
ypical crap reporting from Fifth Gear.
