Archery Compound Shooting Slow Motion

that would be a cheap drop away rest cause i highlty doubt that a top quality drop away would bounce that much.

I am about to get a compiund and you can totally shoot without the sight if you felt like it and just because its a different type of bow doesnt mean that is is easier. They look cooler and are more powerful but you could still shoot no sight. And whos to say you cant have two bows and do both.

No matter what you all say, a recurve or longbow is harder to learn than a compound. My longbow doesn't even have a shelf on it. Compounds are neat, they are more deadly accurate, but it is too much like shooting a gun with the sites and all.

Agreed. Guys claim they hunt with a bow for the "added challenge," yet they rig it with every mechanical aid known to man in order to make it as easy as possible. For example, if billy-joe can't aim, he just buys a sight. If he's got a bad release he just buys a release aid that releases FOR you at the touch of a trigger! If a guy has trouble holdin a 60# longbow at full draw, he just gets a 60# compound so he gets to hold the weight of a child's bow at full draw instead!

They're easier to aim because you're pulling less weight, so you don't tremble as much (and, as a side effect, your arm doesn't move as much when releasing, thus you're more accurate). You still need to be able to shoot (fairly) accurately in the first place, of course ;)

But if you shoot a compound with too much letoff the bow becomes too easy to torque. This does effect accuracy a whole lot. I prefer around 20# of holding weignt myself on my target bows. But many hunting bows won't give you that much, so you have to be pulling into the "wall" to steady your aim. Letoff in and of itself really doesn't help a lot while aiming, but is a big help when holding longer while hunting. Recurves aim steadier aside from the shaking shoulders. LMAO! I love flinging arrows!

Try takin the sights off your bow and shoot with your fingers. Its harder isn't it? Don't kid yourself. Thats just a TASTE of what traditional is like. I hunt with both, and hunting with a longbow is MUCH more challenging. Don't call people stupid or retarded just because they're up for the challenge and you are not. You're just demonstrating your insecurity.

I totally respect that. Like I said, I shoot a barebow compound myself just as often as the longbow. I blew up a bit in those last comments only because some redneck bow-bigots were calling trad guys stupid.
