Damn!!! 24p at the palm of your hand. AWESOME!

24 frame progressive scanning, it refers to the way the camera records , normal cameras use a 60 interlaced frames per second, 24 frames is how many frames are in one second of film, video uses 60 frames per second which are interlaced , and that gives you 30 frames per second i'm not real great at explaining it, you need to research video and tech and film tech and it makes sense.

Can i use normal minidv tapes or do i need hdv tapes with the hv20?
