Established by hahn Cultural Foundation in 1999, Hwajeong Museum specialized in asian art. "hwajeong" is the penname of Dr.Hahn Kwang-ho, the founder, and the museum serves as the repository and showcase for the artworks that Dr.Hahn cutural Foundation, has collected from korea and the world over the past 40 years.
The main building of Hwajeong Museum is located in Pyeongchang-Dong, Jongno-Gu in northern Seoul.
The main building comprises of two display rooms devoted to East-Asian antiquities and Tibetan thangkas.
Since its opening, Hwajeong Museum has hosted three special exhibitions in Seoul, as well as an overseas exhibition of Tibetan art which made a five-city tour of Japan. Continuing to expand its collection and plan exciting new exhibitions, Hwajeong Museum looks forward to playing an increasingly active role in promoting art and cultural exchanges in the 21st century.
