To radostsguy: Simply, you are wrong. The Sea of Azov is NOT in Russia. Ukraine and Russia both border this Sea. Just look at a map. Next, Tavria is a Ukrainian Dance group, & they don't do any Russian dances. Lastly, Kuban Kozaks heritage IS Ukrainian. Though Kuban is in modern-day Russia, they were Ukrainian Kozaks that migrated to that region after losing some battles. These are the facts.
Great dance and music. This is the finest of heard in a long time. It appears they're wearing the traditional Zapo-style Cossack clothing from the 17th century? very colorful.
According to Wikipedia, the Azov Cossaks were integrated into the Kuban Cossaks in Russia. So they are not Ukrainian at all now. Also, the Sea of Azov and the city are clearly in Russia, at the outlet of the Don River.
The Sea of Azov is the eastern-most coastline of Ukraine. As well, the Azov Region falls within the Donetsk Oblast. This dance represent the cossacks who lived in this area, not those who lived in Russia, although there was much overlap. There is the town of Azov in Russia, the overall region which falls into Ukraine as well as Russia, and also other places with the same name (such as in Crimea).
Yeah. I guess what with wars and politics, that whole region is a bit of a a stew!
just so you know wickepidia is written by people and the info can be altered by anyone so believe everything you read there. and i just wanted to say that that was ukrainian dancing and not russian. UKRAINIAN DANCERS not russian.
Wow great dancing everyone is on time!
Of course, they are the Zapovit, Chaban, and Regina Ukrainian Folk Dance Ensembles. Tavria is simply one of them. I am not implying Tavria is the only one, only that along with the other groups we headline it.
In your thing where you leave a description bout Mosaic and stuff you say how Tavria headlines around 15000, there is three other dance groups dancing there as well, keep that in mind please.
