The 2006 Infiniti M is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sports sedan, available in 5 trims, ranging from the 35 Luxury to the 45 Sport. Upon introduction, the 35 Luxury is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 280-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. The 45 Sport is equipped with a standard 4.5-liter, V8, 335-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. The 2006 Infiniti M is redesigned for 2006.

M45 didn't copy mercedes Benz, the E class is not as sport as the M is, Is different to say that they belong to the same mid-lux sedan category. Maybe Infiniti doesn't have the same quality or representation than th Mercedes one but it can beat E class.
