the whistle is the turbo blow-off valve opening. If pressure wasn't released between shifts it can blow the engine

Lol, you mean it could bend the blades on the compressor. It could increase wear on the engine not to have one but its main purpose is to save the compressor on the turbo when a wave of pressure goes back to the turbo when you lift off the throttle after making boost.

it fucks up the bearings which in turn will cause the blades to off balance and bend, my buddy used to run his talon without a blowoff.... deffinatly need a good blowoff valve haha
