he was born in england but his dad's irish they spent their holidays in ireland so he fell in love with it.He decided2 live permanantly years ago when he won his oscar for 'my left foot' as it allowed him a more private life he felt a deep connection. His sister has a house here 2. He lives not far from me and he is a very nice man. irish people respect him and do not hassle him after all he is just a man who happens 2 act. a great one though!

day lewis is not irish, he is english, he has said publically that he considers himself an englishman. Lots of irish people live in england, that does not make them english.
