A haunting musical theme from a haunting film, The Dresser, starring Tom Courtney and Albert Finney. It's King Lear, and a tragedy within a tragedy. I remember seeing this movie in a theater in Austin, TX when it first came out, walking outside after it was over, and being amazed to see the sun still shining in the sky. It is a powerful film.

0:38=precursor to Titanic theme? :) Just those three notes sung wordlessly by a soprano artist...
Can you please tell me if "The Dresser" has been released as a soundtrack? I would love to get my hands on this, being a Horner fan myself.
Not as far as I know. I pulled the theme from the DVD audio to make my own track. JB
This is truly one of the most remarkable films I have ever seen, and such a beautiful, mesmerizing theme. Thank you for posting this!
Glad you enjoyed it. Glory is my favorite James Horner soundtrack, but this theme is in a class by itself, just like the film. Really good stuff!
I'll have to check that out! Is the soundtrack to Glory similar to The Dresser?
It's a very different type of score, if you didn't already listen to it; Glory is tremendous.
