"Doomsday Is Tomorrow," is perhaps the finest episode of the original Bionic Woman series; a two-parter that pits its title character against a super computer -- with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Paying homage to the classic "2001: A Space Odyssey" and the often overlooked, "Colossus: The Forbin Project," "Doomsday" mixes super science with dramatic themes, many of which remain relevant today.
But for all its ambitious inspiration, "Doomsday" is still a small screen production with a small screen budget. It would take a lofty directorial vision, stellar guest cast, and the reliable magic of regular cast and crew to make this two-parter seem bigger than what its screen dimensions could offer. And they succeeded. "Doomsday Is Tomorrow" is powerful and poignant and its message is timeless.
I have always believed it worthy of the big screen. So here is my tribute to "Doomsday Is Tomorrow" -- a contemporary theatrical trailer. But can such a thing truly be done with a 30 year old piece of television? You decide. Based on this trailer, would YOU go to see this in the cinema?
EDITING NOTES: Although I call it a trailer, at 6 minutes it's more of an extended trailer -- much like the sneak previews movie studios release. For music buffs, the main cue used is "Myotis" from BATMAN BEGINS composed by James Newton Howard & Hans Zimmer. Bookending the trailer is music from the actual episode and Bionic Woman main title, by Joe Harnell and Jerry Fielding, respectively.

that was great. Isn't it too bad that corporate greed (universal and miramax) has caused this, and SMDM, to not yet be released? So unbelievable. We deserve to see this. This story was in the top 5 of the while BW/SMDM series, and we can't even see it when we want to.
People who use the words "corny" and "cheesy" ad nauseum, are the type of people who are totally devoid of a sense of wonder, of love and romance, and a soul.

Take any B.W. episode and compare it to episode #1 of the 6 Million dollar man (Population zero)-there is a world of difference! Ms Sommers never had an evil SOB that came right out and threatened with "you'll be reduced to a 6 million dollar pile of junk"... of course by the end of that episode Steve exacted revenge(he blew up their vehicle, burning them all to death), plus Lee Majors never wore a bra in any of the episodes
