Before I say anything let me say I'm an owner of a 2008 G35x so don't think I'm some Civic fanboy.
Now then,
there is no reason to diss V-TEC as it was a revolutionary idea that helped develop variable valve timing technology for other companies. While if you go in detail it might be a bit different, in the end both variable valve timing systems in Honda/Acura and Nissan/Infiniti are pretty much the same.
