Mark Sanchez and Mitch Mustain battle for USC's starting quarterback in 2008.
Hello College Football fans this is Dana Ward with Gamblers Televisions college football report.
USC's spring game is this Saturday and may answer questions about who will line up behind center for the Trojans in 2008. Some are calling the USC quarterback race about even but red shirt junior Mark Sanchez has the inside track as USC's starting quarterback in 2008 over sophomore Arkansas Razorback transfer Mitch Mustain. Sanchez has experience with 3 years in the offensive system. USC's offensive coordinator Steve Sarkissian compares Sanchez with Heisman Trophy USC quarterback Carson Palmer. Sanchez has a rifle arm and throws well on the run. USC is loaded in the running back position with the return of Joe McKnight, CJ Gable and Stafon Johnson at tailback and fullback Stan Havili. USC was decimated with injuries last season, which cost them a shot at a national championship. USC defense will once against be one of the nations best against the run and if they can stay healthy in the secondary the Trojans will be tough to score on. USC will need to improve on the offensive line, as the unit will need to protect the quarterback much better that they did in 2007.
USC starts the season with a game at Virginia and hosts Ohio St in their second game of a difficult non-conference schedule.
Oddsmakers have posted USC as a 3-1 favorite to win the BCS National Championship Game.

GO MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO BUCKS
you're right they were one of the worst teams in college football last season, but lets look at WHY they were one of the worst. They had a true freshman QB, a true freshman RB, that split time with a true sophomore, 2 true sophomore on the o-line and 2 more that had never started a game in there college careers, a true sophomore and true freshman that split time at WR. All together on Offense they are losing 2 starters from last season. Will they beat SC? Don't know, but it wouldn't suprise me
Sanchez is a punk. hope he can keep the job this season, even though he prolly wont. Jimmy Clausen is better than Sanchez, what does that tell ya? To be honest it doesn't matter who starts this year, Notre Dame's gonna ruin their National Title hopes in the last regular season game anyway.
Jimmy Clausen looks like a cross between the lead singer of Sum 41 and an emu (google it if you need to). Sanchez is from the birthplace of great California quarterbacks - Orange County. But good luck to Clausen this year. Hopefully he can break double digits in TDs finally.
Notre Dame? REALLY? If I'm not mistaken they were one of the worst college football teams in the country last season. suddently they're gonna beat one of the best?
