But the Unbridled Song filly broke both ankles near the 6 -furlong pole about a quarter-mile after the finish. And soon was euthanized on the track "She went out in a glory, Jones said. She went out a champion to us. She was our family. I saw my son yesterday and my daughter today, but I saw Eight Belles every day. She had been with us for a year. Rest In peace Eight Belles,forever will you be remembered.

well you dont seem like u ride horses its not the jockeys fault but i don't really think that they should have put that young of a jockey on a kentucky derby horse let alone a KY detrby filly!he didnt whip her too much and ill dissagree with everyone that says so too

Good vid! Poor filly died from being inbreed. She had Mr.Prospector on both sides of her family, and Prospector was the grandson of Native Dancer who reproduced bad ankles. Being inbreed is bad for ankles, and you could only imagine how bad it was for having the Native Dancer's traits on both sides! Its as if the poor thing had no hope. But at least she ran a good Derby.I can't say I had my money on her, but I sure wish she didn't breakdown. I do miss her in races.its bad to us and the community

I think not.She did turn around..when they came down the stretch that's when most horses change leads.And if he was going the other way there would have been a catastrophic collision!! Why wuld anyone want that besides a messed up person as your self!
