The twin-engine S-92 has now recorded over 100 civilian and foreign military sales, and Sikorsky hopes it will win the USAF contract for 141 combat search and rescue helicopters.
I agree with mustang. The S92 would be a better airframe for CSAR.
I hope the big wigs spending our defense money pull their heads out of their happy holes and consider this helicopter for CSAR tasks over the slow overweight pig Chinook. I love the Chinook, but not for CSAR. May as well paint a bullseye on the Chinook if it wins the CSAR bid again.
