No, but a very valid question. Linux is an OS (Operating System). Linux is like a different computer, it will go on any PC/Laptop but looks and functions differently. To get an idea, I would suggest that you try a Live CD to get the feel and it will take time to start b/c its a CD. Also DO NOT install it without backing up your files, it's NOT an upgrade or a program, it will take over your hard drive.
