Description : Alibert (Henri Allibert born in 1889, died in 1951 in Marseille) was a very popular French singer and operetta actor. His first performances in Marseille in 1908, to become during 1920s and 1930s - due to his outstanding charm, intelligence and also strong southern accent - a real star in Paris, who was performing in numerous operettas: "Elle est à vous" (1928), "Au pays du soleil" (1932, "Arènes joyeuses, Trois de la marine" (1934) "Un de la Canebière" (1934 or "Les Gangsters du château d'If" (1936 as well as sung the popular hits ("Le plus beau tango du monde"), - which were written for him very often by his father-in-law, Vincent Scotto, an important French operetta and chanson composer.
