Malta and Gozo are pearls indeed...but in the Med Sea I don't think you can choose "the" pearls...there are too many to choose just one.Ever been to Formentera?

Malta is not like all the other Mediterranean countries. It has its very own magic and tourists from Germany (where I come from) should give Malta a chance and visit it instead of Majorca.

I'm from Majorca.Went to Malta in March.I loved it.They should give it a chance,of course.I don't think Malta is better or worse than Mallorca...but they are quite alike...actually Malta looks more like Menorca. I think Malta's history is very interesting.
