Actually I heard in a David Chase interview that if there is indeed a Sopranos movie it would mostly likely be a prequel to the Johnny Soprano days.

I don't think they need Sil, Bobby, or Uncle Jun.. Tony was the one who really carried the show. He could take a 2 hour shit on-screen Sopranos fans would walk away happy.. besides Paulie's still alive what they can do with all the loose ends is limitless.

They need to start on a script and make it a masterpeice instead of useing it as a bank job movie. I wouldn't mind if it took years to write, or years to direct. If it will be a masterpeice never to be forgotten, then I say go for it! (you know, with the way they ended the sopranos, they still have a chance of bringing back the whole series if you think about it.
