Well, bjnboy, I have the utmost respect for the Queen. She has given her life, whole heartedly for her country. As someone else mentioned the grandure in which she lives, I can imagine there are people out there that would prefer to live their own lives...make their own choices.. live as they please. May Queen Elizabeth live long and in good health.

Long live the Queen and long live the House of Windsor!!!!! And to think that some people (like Cherie Blair) want to get rid of them! The British Monarchy is the most cost efficient in the world! I would gladly pay more than sixteen pence to see my country's tradition live on forever! What about you?

Nah, she effectively lives in a council house, we pay our taxes for every inch of her luxury and then we're expected to bow to her. I don't mind paying for people who actually need aid but for Christ's sake! She doesn't do anything. She could change the world, being in the position she's in, she could air her opinions and do something. She's terrible.

Such a rare and regal occassion. The American public are treated every four years to an Inauguration but we do it all wrong with a fleet of limosines, canons and 21 gun salutes, and a military band playing Hail to the Chief. British Coronations get the whole nine yards with horse drawn carriages, fancy and feminine looking costumes, trumpets, etc. The only thing in recent years that America has had in such splendor and grandeur was the 2004 Reagan State funeral.
