looks like it was an overheat issue. its possible they messed with the CPU and heat-sink assembly and forgot to reapply thermal grease.
As for the wireless card...yeah the stock wireless cards in most laptops suck. my mothers dell has the same issue. I'm looking for an OEM replacement for the device until then I bought her a PCMCIA replacement card.
Really thats surprising, HP has given me no problems other than minor hiccups which are the result of dropping and other wear and tear.

This is why you buy laptops from Future Shop

just replaced a dc jack on one of these, they are crappy !!!!! the board is flawed by design!!!!!! they have power the fluxes to much !!!!!! look at the jack or test the board for high currents of energy

I'll buy the laptop from you!!

They only fix it for 2-3 days? We have the TURNING OFF problem too, usually when watching movies... We returned it back & forth for like 5-6 times, for at least a week every return (PC RICHARD). They said that they have replaced things & stuff & should be in working order now...However, the problem of TURNING OFF within an hour or less is still occuring. For 5-6 times of returning back & forth. They're just wasting our time, & finally we gave up & bought new one for good. =(

We're not going in their store anymore! (PC RICHARD)

all you had to do was query about replacing your wireless card and about the computer "dieing".... try uninstalling programs that you are not using as it freezes up the system and it will shut down.
|
Geek Squad has a no lemon guarantee if they can't fix it 3 times they give you a store credit of the amount you paid for the laptop originally. Your Welcome and Good Luck!
My gut feeling is if they did replace all thous parts and the problem is still occurring it may be the CPU..

At this time, the solution to the problem is irrelevant. The issue being illustrated in this video is that despite the obvious fact of a problem, Best Buy treated it as trivial & HP failed to repair it.

there are ways to fix the wireless card in the laptop, you can get a replacement, i may or be able to help you in locating one, sounds like it is a problem with the mini wireless card, usually they are not built into the mb so you would be able to fix it by yourself with a replacment, just email me herdes222[@]gmail . com (had to meess it up to post
