Old comment, but it made me laugh so I decided to reply. He routinely drives more powerful cars, frequently sideways for fun. It's what he does for a living. The problem is that the *car* can't handle the power. It might beat the Rousch in a straight line, but that's all. The Rousch has far better handling. It might even hold up well against a similarly powerful European saloon, maybe an older BMW M5.

shelby gt500 has a supercharged 5.4 not 4.6.

The dampers and springs/shocks may be upgraded but they is only so much "upgrading" you can do with a live rear axle. Such a waste of horsepower to put a live rear axle on a car with 500 hp. On a road course it's going to get murdered by cars pushing less than 200 unless it can make it up in the straights. It's just a bad sports car. Replace the axle with RIS and then we're talking.
