A mission in Armed Assault with the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter. I tried to be detailed and show the entire mission, with explanatory captions, to give you an impression of how to fly a complete mission in the game, not just pointless flying around.
I skipped some less exciting segments, like when waiting for the convoy, and some of the trip back to the base.

I did much the same thing. I downloaded OFP first, then disocovered arma. Arma is pretty much OFP, just better.

It's pretty much the sequel to OFP, and it's made by the same developers, who had a falling out with the OFP producers, so they lost the rights to the name (although they do take some digs at the original game). And yes, once you've got your computer set up right, it is very, very sweet.
what is the name of this game? is it PC based or for game machines?
The name is actually "Armed Assault" (or Combat Operations in North America), and it's only for the PC.
does the helicopter simulation involve ANY realistic helicopter flight (controlling hover, etc)
It's not a complete heli flight sim, but you can set it up to be controlled pretty realistically. Hovering is very difficult.
