Well, I'll give the Newtones that for not taking the CD version literally, though it's still not "out there" like I was expecting. (Perhaps because my own arrangements are borderline insane? ;-) ).

some of them are significantly different from the original arrangement, especially evaporated.

I've actually heard a lot of really awesome female groups with women who can hit tenor and bass range. Perhaps the full songs would showcase that better.

Personally, I would have rather had some creative arrangements, and not only vocal transcriptions trying to sound exactly like the CD version, but hey, I'm not the one making the CD ;-).

why isnt there anything on this about the ohio university leading tones?! one of the best groups on the record!

Is it me or did the male and coed groups sound a lot better than the female ones? Female a cappella groups just seem to suffer from the reduced range.

The editor must be on crack... or he doesn't know how to normalize audio. I was turning it up and down the whole time!

I got the CD and I really do feel that you get the "You Are There" perspective.

a few inaccuracies ... the Loreleis are from UNC Chapel Hill, the Spartones are from UNC Greensboro.
