Sonia Gandhi said that an old dream of Rajjivji has come true. She said that Indians always try to excel and make a mark at the global level with dignity. She also said that India is the world's largest democracy and thus holds a special place on the globe. In another function organised by Bank of Baroda ,UPA chairperson launched Baroda grameen paramarsh kendra,Biometric ATM and Baroda swarojgar vikas sansthan alongwith 1000 Self help groups and 151 Farmers Clubs. While addressing the gathering, Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi said, " When I spoke about an institute like this I was told that Raebareli and Amethi were rural areas...villages where it would not be profitable to set up an institute like this. 50-60 years ago, India's great leaders, like Pandit Nehru and Patel publicly accepted that India is a poor country. In those days too there were people who said that institutes like IIT will not help India as it is a poor country. It's 50 years now and the same people who opposed the idea have fallen silent. The country is striding forward. I'd like to reiterate that there shouldn't be any part of India left where education does not reach. If we have to take our country forward we have to educate the poor and
