From my understanding, there was "controversy" because Brooke Shields was only 15 years old when she purred "Nothing comes between me and my Calvins". The commercial was considered to be very suggestive and sexual.

I know. I remember people were so upset because her legs were open during the commericial talking about nothing coming between her and her Calvins. Wow! The funny thing is compared to today's teenagers Brooke is so tame. I loved then and now.
