why wouldnt you just buy like better drum heads instead of using like 3 pounds of duct tape
Ed here. I was trying to replicate the Alex Van Halen snare sound. I noticed that he used several strips of duct tape on his snare heads. When I tried this, it really did get the sound closer to his. You can see this on the "Jump" video, when the camera pans around behind Alex. Just FYI. ED
the audio and video is a little rough...but this Van Halen tribute band rocks! Hot For Teacher was excellent both times I saw them in Portland Oregon.
Quality musicians and a great stage show!
