i search a desktop cam as camstudio but for linux...i need help

does any1 know how to get ubuntu on vista ?

What should the partition sizes be? If I have two separate hard drives do I need to make partitions?

That would depend on your hard drive size and how much you would like to devote to Linux :)

nice music! I should be getting my linux CD so I can install it. Windows is quite a pain to install. But right now I have Dual boot with Windows Vista, and XP. But i look forward to dual booting Windows vista, and linux

Huh? Windows is easy to install (and so is ubuntu) although ubuntu is a lot more entertaining as you can browse the web etc

I had onboard sound card(AC 97) and there wasn't any need for installing board drivers(which include sound drivers). Last week I bought Audigy and it worked from the start. I also know a friend that uses Ubuntu and is an owner of a Sound Blaster Live and it works ok. Your experience with linux must be specific. But based on what you are saying you haven't even use it. To install applications you only need three clicks in a package manager.

you burn your "flavor" of linux to a disc. then put it in your cd drive...when you restart your computer open your BIOS and make sure it is set to load the CD/DVD drive BEFORE your hard drive and the installation process will start up...or in this case the live version of the OS will open and run directly from the disc...then you just install with the instruction on here :)
