@DoctorNumber46 :WRC cars are slower. a lot slower. WRC cars are only limited to 300hp, electronically. GROUP B rally cars didnt have restrictions. the lancia delta s4 had 450 hp or even more. GROUP B rally killed a lot of drivers and spectators, which is why it was banned. the cars where too fast. but i dont know why you call it WRC cars when GROUP B rally cars are WRC cars too. just different divisions. |
lancia delta s4 is great but to bad they dont make them anymore |
Driving at its best... |
@icecoldbrew92 Yup, just the way I love them :P |
great Pilote Toivonen and great navigator Cresto thanks |
Thanks for show Toivone Cresto and LANCIAS4 |
@DoctorNumber46
That's because they do go faster around corners. Group B era cars didn't have specialized tires for rallying so it's only natural.
Also, Group B was a part of the WRC, so it doesn't make sense to distinguish the new Group A and the old Group B by calling one "WRC". They're both WRC. |
these cars were so much of a hand full though. 500 pluss hp, a regular clutch. much less technology but wayy more power |
maybe this is just me, but it seems like even though WRC cars are slower in a straight line than these Group B cars, it still seems like the WRC cars go at least as fast if not faster around the corners. |
The (late) Group Bs were really insane machines, they were the last breed of motorsport racecars that build with little to no restrictions and were uncivilized and non-sanitized. |
That was with TC/LC.
The 1980s F1 cars didn't have that, plus they suffered from turbo lag and at low speeds had little to no downforce.
So from 0 to 100 an 86 rally could/would and 86 F1 car, but from 0 to 200 or 100 to 200 km/h is a different story.
Contemporary F1 drivers, like Senna and Mansell who got in a group B car were impressed and said the were a lot more raw and more dangerous then F1 cars and F1 racing (Senna's own words). |
you realy are rude |
this is the first time know this, thank you for the info, but you may be wrong or you may be right i cant say either, all i know is that there is no car that can jump and go side ways on dirt tracks and still have f1 like performance with only a 1.8l 4 cylinder engine, (well maybe other group b rally cars could) |
@ayghjib1
The S4 is my all time favorite car especially being a finn named Henry but if you´d gotten really adventurous and actually checked your claim, for example from the unlikely source google perhaps with the words "f1" and "acceleration" wikipedia would tell you that:
F1 acceleration (Renault, 2006)
0 to 100 km/h (62 mph): 1.7 seconds
0 to 200 km/h (124 mph): 3.8 seconds
0 to 300 km/h (186 mph): 8.6 seconds*
*Figures may alter slightly depending on the aerodynamic setup. |
why are you rude or are just Annoyed because you know I'am right, but as long as it has four wheels and an engine i will bow down to it, f1 or group b or any thing Ells |
Formula 1 car reaches 200km/h and brakes down to 0km/h in 7 seconds. Suck that. |
Lancia Delta S4 has 2.3 sec to 100 km/h but on the gravel !!! this is true. Read about this. LANCIA DELTA S4 rulez
love from poland :) |
What a piece of crap!! Thing looks like a fuggin YUGO!! |
actually f1 cars are beatable after reaching 240km/h (the lancia's top speed) by pikes peak cars like suzuki escudo and toyota celica wich can reach 310km/h faster than an f1 cars, and dont forget group C race cars, those are not to be taken Lightly, so you can see that f1 casr are great but not unbeatable |
the only reason for that is that f1 cars power/weight ratio is massive. once the back wheels stop spinning and the car is moving, an f1 car is unbeatable. |
f1 car can never ever do 2.3 sec no matter how light or powerful they get, the best power curve on a internal combustion engine wit the best traction (4WD) cant do more than 2.3 sec to 100 Km/h, you need an electric motor do it in less than that so please dont ever think that an f1 car can do 2.3 sec tp 100Km/h , ever, ever, and i mean it in the nicest way, they just cant
lancia delta S4 for ever

f1 cars go faster than 2.3 sec to 100km/h, I'm pretty sure of that.
And of course lancia delta will win on a hillclimb or on a rally, you can't compare f1 cars with rally cars. They're totally different cars |
It could actually do it in 2.3 seconds, I think that it did that figure on dirt. |
the lancia could do 2.3sec to 100km/h and it would out performe f1 cars, but only on a short sraight line or twisty roads because as you know the lancia has a top speed of 200-245 km/h depending on the gear ratios, so on a curcuit with a long straight line the lancia won't do more then 245 km/h but the f1 well alot more, but on a hillclimb or a tarmac rally the lancia will win no question |
