Meanwhile, the Irgun had loaded a ship, the Altalena, with weapons and Jewish fighters (many of them Holocaust survivors) to join the IDF. Ben-Gurion ordered that the Altalena be fired upon. Rabin carried out his orders to the letter. Later, Rabin bragged how he had "bumped them off on the deck of the burning ship and while they were trying to swim to safety." Sixteen Jews were killed, many shot while swimming to shore.

I think Israel has painted herself into a corner by not talking to Hamas. And then again talking to Hamas would be political suicide.But the situation now is getting worse,more rockets over Israel and what if there are more suicide bombers? As far as I can see Israel gets what Israel wants.Any moves for peace must be initiated by Israel and by crushing PLO, Sharon made sure that hamas came to power.Why should Hamas talk to Israel? They hate Israel and will never dance to Israels "music".

Israel made a serious error when they didn't annex all Israeli land in 1967. It was a serious area to allow the world to call the Land of Israel "occupied." The ONLY occupation in Israel is by Arab/Muslims who are trying to steal the land from Jews to prove that the G-d of Israel is a liar and that mr allah is a real god.
