How does something THAT big manage to stay in the air?

Thanks for posting the video: i've been looking for video or sound bytes of the C-5 lifting off for a while. Reminds me when I was a 2-Tango for a short stint in the USAF; damn I loved the sound of that plane, even when everyone else hated it like nails on a chalkboard. The only difference between the audio in this film and real life... is that the engine has a bit of a wavering effect to it; it's not that steady vacuum-cleaner sound in the beginning, it wavers.

Re: wavering sound, I think it's more noticeable when the 4 engines are at idle. Although, when all 4 are at power, no matter if you are on the ground (doing an engine run) or inside while it's flying.. that wavering sound is still there. Love it!
