The House debates the RESTORE Act of 2007 (Responsible Electronic Surveillance That is Overseen, Reviewed, and Effective). This bill provides the Intelligence Community with effective tools to conduct surveillance of foreign targets outside the United States but restores Constitutional checks and balances that were not contained in President Bush's bill, the Protect America Act (PAA). I'm an American and I can tell you assuredly. The terrorists have moved on. I think they have recognized that America is rotting from the inside with it's theocrats, immoral moralists, greed, toxic food, corruption, crime, and general idiocy. They, I believe, understand that anything that they can do is just plain piling on.

Do you, Nancy Pelosi, understand that the Bush Administration is a threat to our national security? More importantly they are a threat to each individual citizens safety. When will you finally support and initiate impeachment proceedings?
1. FISA itself is unconstitutional (spy first, then up to 72 hrs to get a warrant).
2. The only thing the Republicans are holding out for is "cover your a55" immunity, so....
3. the Republicans are putting the nation at risk simply for CYA.
4. Not allowing aggrieved citizens their right to their day in court in matters related to this spying is to usurp the power of the Judiciary as well as effectively rendering due process moot, making the whole issue of immunity doubly unconstitutional.
If you think that they'll hold to that, you're very naive.
